A Population Shrinks: Age of Extinction?

ten Dear Friends, Why is it so difficult for people to understand that ten minus one equals nine?  Or if you have ten apples and destroy one, there are only nine left? Every country in the world struggles with this simple population equation, take Japan for example, where the decline is sharpest in the working-age population.

The Japan Times headlines reads “Population shrinks for fifth straight year.” While the number of births in 2013 edged up to 1.03 million, the number of deaths reached a record high, at 1.26 million. As a result, a population decline, or simply put, the number of deaths over births stood at 237,450, the highest on record in Japan. The population marked a man-created decline for the seventh consecutive year.

Of the total Japanese population today, 13% comprised children under 15 years old, and 25% of people aged 65 or over. Mathamatically viewed, a decrease in the population. The primary cause of this “population implosion” resulting in “fewer workers” is a shortage of children in Japan – which is man-made.

cribTranslated into a simple logical equation: A fertility rate of 2.1 babies per family is necessary to produce a stable working force. At present, Japan has a fertility rate of 1.4 children per family. Therefore, since Japan aborts a large percentage of its unborn babies, it lowers its fertility rate and actively creates its own shortage of workers.

Since the turn of the 21st century, around 300,000 abortions have been conducted in Japan each year. Over a ten year period this equals a population decrease of 3,600,000 Japanese people. As unborn babies decline, so does the labor force.

The official Japanese government statistics on abortion however can not be considered as very accurate since physicians tend to underreport the number of abortions they perform as a way of avoiding income tax payments (Coleman 1991) and because of social pressures to protect women’s confidentiality, especially that of young women who are junior high or high school students. (Wikipedia) The number of abortions is estimated to be much higher.

SILENCE IS NO LONGER AN OPTION FOR GOOD PEOPLE. Any society that kills its unborn babies is committing suicide. It’s simple mathematics. Ten minus one equals nine. The choice is yours: Protect your Unborn or support the killings by remaining silent!

God Bless

images-3The Difference is LIFE – “At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.” – (Mother Teresa)

“A Family’s Prayer for Life”: O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life. Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. — Saint John Paul II, Evangelium vitae (105)
